The mystery has puzzled scientists for generations: why are clouds
reflected
in ponds, but ponds are not reflected in the clouds? Years
of study by researchers
at Yale and the University of Southern California
have many scientists believing
that an answer is finally within reach.
"The work has not yet been submitted
for peer review," one researcher
said on condition of anonymity, "but
the rumour is that that clouds are
composed of vapor, and that vapor simply isn't
that reflective.
Considerable work was apparently done by researchers attempting
to
see themselves in the steam from a tea kettle. Those attempts were,
sources
say, consistently unsuccessful."
