Interviewed at the downstairs bar at Sardi's, UFO enthusiast Silas
Wafer
takes a deep breath and a shot of rye before relating the
story of his abduction.
"I was walking past Rockefeller Center
last Thursday when I saw it,"
he says. "This blue orb of light.
it was pefectly round, like a baseketball
made of engery.
It made a sort of murmuring, trilling, singing sound as it
approached.
Suddenly a blaze of shimmering indigo hummed
from the ball and bathed over me.
The moment the light
struck me, I found myself aboard the glowing starship.
From the outside, it appeared to be no larger than pumpkin,
but
once inside I sensed immediately that the ship was as large
as the planet Jupiter.
We travelled across untold universes
for eons beyond my power to tablulate. Then
stopped by
an In-And-Out Burger in Santa Monica for some takeout.
I
was bringing back a couple of root beers and a big bag
of onion rings when I
saw the ball take flight without me.
I miss those guys. I do. But, honestly,
we had eons together.
It was enough. I'm cool with it."
